Exhibition: Abandoned Korea

I love being involved in an exhibition. I was once told that “Taking photographs is only half of what photography is about, printing and getting people to see what you’ve taken is the other half”.
Abandoned Korea – Sangsu

The destruction and construction in Korea always seems to amaze me. This time, along with some fellow photographers, I explored the area around Sangsu-dong in Seoul. This area is being ‘rejuvenated’ and there are many abandoned properties to explore.
Korean Autumn

I love the autumn in Korea; the sun in still quite warm but there’s a cool breeze abound, the leaves rustle and fall from the trees, the colours are wonderful. I went to the secret garden at 창덕궁 (Changdeokgung) for some photography and focused on colours and contrasts in this gem of a place.
Hạt Mít

It feels good to do some portraits. This time I met a new model – Hạt Mít, a Vietnamese broadcasting student studying here in Seoul. We had a good time shooting in Seoul Forest. Here I used one off camera flash unit triggered by a wireless remote.
Raindrops (iPad Wallpapers)

Seoul has been awash the last two months with heavy rainfall. During one day of heavy rain on a trip to a temple I took some macro shots of a beautiful pond with lily pods and flowers. I created some wallpapers for the iPad from these photographs.
iPhone Shots: One

Having an iPhone, or any other smartphone for that matter can be a powerful tool for photography if placed in the right hands. I’ve found having a iPhone with me at all times is an incredibly useful tool for capturing those little moments when using my other camera is difficult
Abandoned Korea: Okpo Land

More exploring. During a weekend with no plans, I set one to visit Okpo Land, an abandoned amusement park on Geojedo island (거제도). Geojedo is very far south, an island not too far from Busan – Korea’s second largest city.
Abandoned Korea – Mental Hospital

More exploring, this time a little out of the city. We visited an mental hospital that has been abandoned since 1996. That’s a long time to be abandoned, but for the time it’s in a relatively good condition.
Abandoned Korea – Okin + 안면도

This is a collection of images taken from the Okin apartments complex, an apartment complex in Seoul built in the 70′s that is now being torn down. When I visited the apartments, demolition had begun and security tried to shoo me from the area.
